Overview
My work explores the use of emittance exchange beamline to generate high-frequency bunch trains from transverse modulations. The goal is to understand the limits of high-frequency bunch-train generation and to develop methods for enhancing radiation brightness.
Methods
Two methods are being investigated. The first uses a TEM grid with a quadrupole demagnifier to control the transverse modulation period before EEX, enabling studies of nanometer-scale longitudinal modulation. The second uses a transverse wiggler system to generate a sawtooth-like transverse correlation, which can be mapped through EEX into a longitudinal structure that enhances radiation brightness.
